Winter beads

Actually, I hate winter. It is so cold everywhere. The only thing that makes winter a little bit nicer is the snow. Last year I started learning beading. The necklace I made, can be called "The Reflection of Winter". It is not the perfect creation, I know. But I want to share it with you, because it is the season.

Winter season in cross stiching

I have mentioned before, that I am interested in various forms of crafts. Well, let me introduce you my cross stitched Winter Mandala. The design is created by Chatelaine Designs. It is free to download, so if you like it, check the designer's page: Chatelaine Designs. I am in love with Chatelaine mandalas. They are so cute and intricate, that every time I cross stitch is, I feel very joyful and relaxed. Another thing I like about these designs is that they give the opportunity to try new materials and techniques. In this Christmas mandala the seed beads are used. Also there are stitches that are made wit silver and golden threads. So, the process of stitching will never get boring.

Old stuff - wrist warmers

We have a very nice winter with a lots of snow in my country. Today I looked through the window and remembered a project, I made last winter. It is a pair of wrist warmers. They are very nice to wear. The wrist warmers are made in traditional manner. They are made of merino wool ad decorated with seed beads. I am thinking about knitting a new pair of wrist warmers, because the winter season is quite long. Please share your experience about wearing wrist warmers: do you wear them and what kind of warmers do you prefer?

Old stuff - tatting

It's a pity that I left my camera at work, so I cannot show you the project I am working on. I have many of projects I started, so I hope this blog will help me to finish them, one by one.

Yesterday I was looking through my old photos, and I found my first examples I made with tatting shuttles. They are not very good, but they were my firs works done by tatting. I would be very grateful if you could leave me some comment on that.

By the way, I am obsessed by learning new things - techniques and so on. I know it is not good, because I cannot concentrate on one technique and master it, but I find some advantages of this obsession. Handicrafts never get boring.
