Crocheted bears (amigurumi style)

Crocheting is one of those addictive habits, that allows you to make cute tiny things in a short time. I came across some nice amigurumi patterns in Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts: Amigurumi book. The book contains very helpful step by step instructions and patterns on making cute amigurumi animals.

I have crocheted some really nice bears on these patters. Off course, these bears were almost the first amigurumies I have ever crocheted, so they are not perfect. I used cotton perle thread and 1 mm size hook, so my bears are very small. Their height is about 5 cm. But they are really cute and nice. At the moment I have an idea trying some acrylic or cotton worsted yarn and bigger hook to make more ami-bears.

The problem about crocheting with thin thread is that parts of the toy are so small that it hard to handle them. Especially when you are crocheting amigurumi for the first time.
I am not sure what kind and brand of yarn would fit crocheting amigurumis most, but I will share my experiments with you.
